Unit 1A: Extend Your Own Practice
As circus is my main art form, I've chosen to use music as my second area. I want to be able to have my music fit my performance so I have more freedom when creating acts. Initially I plan to learn music tech so I can cut pieces to fit with my act, though might develop this further and write music too.
I want to develop a gentleman juggling act, using things that aren't usually seen in performances. Having the opportunity to use music with more flexibility will hopefully help put across what I want to to the audience. I plan to perform this act in a circus show my society at college is putting on.
Unit 1B: Get Involved in the Arts World
For this part I need to take part in a minimum of two days training. I'm planning on doing a five day aerial workshop during April, but am also looking at other options.
Unit 1C: Research and Review
I try to go to a variety of shows, usually circus related. Most of the shows I go to this year will probably be part of Circusfest, and I'd like to particularly find some performances with female jugglers and look into their work.
Unit 1D: Form and Communicate A View
For this section I'm going to research whether people believe juggling is a sport or an art form. I currently see it as both, though prefer the idea of it as an art form and am interested to hear other views.
Unit 2: Arts Leadership Project
Myself and some friends are making a Circus Society at college. With the support of other members, I plan to put on a circus show for other students and potentially the general public.
